Training for Children

Children

One of the most satisfying aspects of Master Oh's work is observing the transformation in the children he trains. Children, particularly those who may have lacked self-confidence prior to commencing training, flourish while learning Taekwondo. There are a number of reasons for this:

  • The process of gaining mastery nurtures Children's persistence and self discipline - and these are essential skills which carry over to the other areas of their lives including their studies
  • Performing training routines in front of fellow students and audiences builds confidence, poise and leadership skills
  • Taekwondo improves children's fitness, balance and coordination
  • Lastly children who may have been bullied in the past draw confidence from the fact that they are able to defend themselves

Grand Master Oh's training emphasizes the traditional Taekwondo values of modesty, discipline and control. These values are at odds with the aggressive or disrespectful behavior which can sometimes result from poor martial arts training of children.

Training sessions for children last 60 minutes and classes are available each week day evening and on Saturday mornings. Click here for details of class times and address details.
